Ben Martin has been involved with music since his early childhood. His father performed in a church music group and would regularly bring him to the rehearsals where he fell in love with music. By the age of 7 Ben received his first drum set and began studying music and performing percussion in his school's band by the age of 9. When he was 12 years old he began studying drum set and percussion with Art Creager until he graduated high school. While attending the music program at Schenectady County Community College Ben was featured in Downbeat Magazine twice (June 2015 and June 2016) with the jazz combo and jazz ensemble for an outstanding performance in a community college. He graduated with his Bachelor's in Music Education from the College of Saint Rose in 2019 and completed his Mater's in Jazz Studies from The University of Hartford in 2021. Ben is currently teaching instrumental music at Northville Central School District and working as a gigging musician for local theater companies as well as local bands such as Thanks!.
